Camborne is located in what was formerly one of the richest tin mining areas in the world. Positioned off the A30 dual carriageway, Camborne is an urban town, with access to local attractions such as Cornwall Goldsmiths, and access to a well established town.
Throughout Trevithick’s age, the inventor put Camborne on the map, and trading through the mining industry grew dramatically. Richard still kept up with technology during the age, keeping his creative mind going until his death in 1833, in Dartford, aged 66 years.
In 1815, Penzance born Sir Humphry Davy, got in on the action, inventing the Miner’s Lamp. Designed and later used in the mining industry alongside Trevithicks steam creations.
