Carbis Bay is on the coast road into St Ives. The beach is usually calm and always sheltered from the west. The beach is privately owned, with access to a small car park, with a charge. So parking is limited in the area. However, the train station is above the beach (up the hill) and so is the coastal footpath.
It is advised to make use of the park and ride train service from St Erth and Lelant Saltings, trains run regularly through the main summer holiday season.
